Twisted Patchwork Pinwheel Mini Quilt

This is my latest all-scrap project.  It is just a wee quilt -- 18 by 24 inches.  For now I put it on the wall, but my daughter is already eyeing it for a doll quilt.
I quilted it with yellow thread following the zig-zag of the pinwheels.
There are a few little I-Spy type surprises in the quilt.  I always have lots of novelty fabric scraps to use up.
If you are wondering about my method, I used the little ruler above.  It is called the L'il Twister I believe.  It is by CS Designs.  I ignored the directions that came with it and used scrappy 4 patches to cut from instead.  I made four patches using 3 inch squares as above.  The finished 4 patch was 5 inches.  Then, once cut with the ruler, the new little pinwheel square is 3.5 inches.
I think a larger quilt like this would look wonderful and scrappy, but it would be a LOT of work.  Happy Quilting!

Interesting use for the lil twister. Live how scrappy this came out.

I love this! I just made a pillow with the Lil Twister. It is so much fun to use! I love your version and will definitely be trying it someday. Thanks for the inspiration!

It is lovely! I wonder about that lil' twister ruler, I think I would feel guilty about the left over bits!

I adore anything scrappy (you may have noticed). This quilt is a triumph of colour, although the design of the pinwheels gets a little muddled when there is no clear value distinction. An excellent use of this little ruler... I am curious to see what you make of the little cut off corners.

I love this. I would have not thought about it with the Lil Twister. You are so creative.
