The other day a quilting/blogging friend Rosa posted a picture of a little Lego sewing machine on Facebook. The picture was from this blog called Such Designs from a couple of years ago. Well, that was all the inspiration I needed to see if I could replicate my own machine in Lego. I mean it's March Break, and me and the boy are just hanging out having fun anyway ...

... So, see it sitting on my machine above!!! I am such a geek, I looooove it.
Here it is closer. Our Lego collection is a big combo of a million yard sale bits and pieces plus some recent Star Wars Lego acquisitions. It was fun to dig through to see what would work for all the parts.
I thought it was funny to add a little speedometer gauge to the computer screen part of the machine! It is from some Lego spaceship or something. But maybe some sewing machines could really use one. I am sometimes guilty of sewing a little fast.
This cracks me up too. It is a little Lego saw which I thought made a perfectly scaled rotary cutter! Eli and I were laughing over that.
And here's everything together: sewing machine, rotary cutter, extra thread ... and oh, what's that? A little wine glass? Hee, hee. All set to sew!

And just think, I had lego when it was only squares and rectangles and had fun with that!! The shapes and things they have now, way to much fun!!! Now remember, when sewing, only glass of wine till the project is done - and that lego glass looks about right!! ;-)

Nice one! Lego is an excellent artistic medium. Taking little coloured squares and rectangles and putting them together to create something lovely....hang on... that sounds a lot like something else we all do...LOL
Yet another wonderful surprise in a week full of delightful quirkiness.
As a huge Lego fan, and a sewist (seamstress? person who sews?), I love it.
I want one of these so badly! It is just the cutest thing. My 4-year-old grandson doesn't have a large enough collection--YET--but I'm pinning this pic for future use!

My son walked into the room while I was viewing this post and he sew EWWW a Lego sewing machine. Does it work? all serious that only a 7 year old could be lol make me laugh.

It is amazing! I have never seen anything like it.
How fun! My son still has all his legos and even took them to college with him where his roomies had a lego pit. Hey, he is a geeky engineer that is how they roll ;0).
I saw this last year too and thought it was so cool....I'm amazed how much yours looks like your very own machine :0)
