My Halloween I Spy Quilt top, now known as the Spooktacular Spy Quilt, is done. It has 120 squares. Every square is different, although many squares are cut from the same fabrics so the variations in some cases may be slight. I will say that these Halloween fabrics are perfect I Spy fabrics as there is SO SO much to look for in the designs.
Although with other I Spy quilts I've made I typically use sashing to break up the design somehow, this time I just went for wild, crazy, busy patchwork. In this case it seemed more fun and festive to just put everything together. It was very tricky to distribute the colours in the quilt, and the whole thing is a bit dark due to so much black in so many Halloween fabrics, but I like it. I'm going to put a bright binding on it to help lighten it up.
See that extra little set of legs behind the quilt in this photo?
